The Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu offers exams for its students at the end of each course cycle. Additional exams will be regularly offered for ALL students (incl. non GZK students) on the levels A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1. These Exams will be held on 3 Sundays per month.

External exams are available for ALL persons who wish to take an authorised German Exam. Hence, everybody is eligible to register!
NO! All exams fees will be paid in Nepalese currency! The final price in Nepalese currency will be calculated in accordance with the respective exchange rate of the Nepal Rastra Bank at the time the registration starts! Please find the respective currency converter here!
To register for a your exam you have to
–> follow our Social Media channels for more information about the the time and date for the registration
–> fill out the respective online form! The online form will be made available via our Facebook presence!
–> upon successful registration visit the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu (see point 6)
Please be aware that registration for non GZK students is being done on a ‘first-come-first-serve‘-basis!
Congratulations. Now all you have to do is visit us and provide the following:
–> 2 passport sized photos
–> photocopy of your citizenship ID or passport
–> bank voucher | proof of payment
PLEASE DO NOT PAY THE EXAM FEE UNTIL YOU GET CONFIRMATION FROM THE GZK TO DO SO!
That is unfortunately NOT POSSIBLE! Exam seats are not transferable in any case due to official regulations.
Yes! You can retake the exam or any module as often as it might become necessary. Please also see our section about exam preparations.
NO! At this time there is no possibility to take an (acknowledged) exam online!

Your certificate is valid indefinitely! However, most institutions, authorities and/or universities regulate their own requirements. As such the validity can be anything from ‘not older than 6 months to … 10 years’.

Unfortunately that is where our services reach their end. We, the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu will get you ‘in shape’ to go to Germany but we do not have the ability to aid you in any application process.

Once you have failed an exam your are considered a ‘non-GZK-student’.
You can re-apply at any exam date provided for non-GZK-students.
PLEASE NOTE: You will receive the discount for GZK-students in case you next exam will take place in the course of the next 12 months after the end of your course. Such discount is ONLY VALID for an exam at the same level as the failed exam!
