  • 1. When does the next course start?

    The Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu offers new classes every 11 weeks. Please find the latest information about our courses here. In addition, please also follow our social media presences on Facebook and Instagram to always get the latest news and dates!

  • 2. How long does a course last and how much does it cost?

  • 3. How much do I have to pay for the books?

    If you have registered for an online or a Blended Learning course you will get access to all necessary learning material without further costs. If you have registered for a physical class the following applies:

  • 4. How can I register?

    To register for a German language class at the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu you have to fill out an ONLINE FORM!

     

    The respective form will be made available via our Facebook presences.

    Please be aware that registration is being done on a ‘first-come-first-serve‘-basis!

  • 5. At what time does the courses take place?

    The Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu offers classes in the (early) morning, during the day and in the evening. However, class times closely correspond to the respective demand and available infrastructure.

     

    Therefore, the GZK can not guarantee that a class will take place at a certain time.

     

    The GZK reserves the right to temporarily change class times if circumstances do demand so.

  • 6. How long does a class last per day?

    Our classes are divided into units of 45 minutes.

     

    Normal Class:         2 units per day @  GZK | Monday-Friday

    Intensive Class:      4 units per day @ GZK | Monday – Friday

    Blended Learning:  2 units per day @ GZK | Monday-Friday PLUS 2 units per day guided self-learning online (learning platform)

  • 7. How many students will attend my class?

    Physical classes will be attended by a maximum of 20 students. Online classes and Blended Learning courses will be attended by a maximum of 18 students.

  • 8. Are students taught by Nepali teachers or foreign teachers?

    At the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu both Nepali as well as foreign teachers are teaching. Meet our team!

  • 9. I want to directly join the GZK at level A2 or higher - without having studied at the GZK before. Is that possible?

    Yes you can! To register for the level A2 (or higher) you’ll have to provide a valid certificate of an acknowledged language institution.

    The GZK accepts certificates from the Goethe-Institute, the VHS and Bishwo Bhasha Campus Kathmandu.

     

    The certificate must not be older than 12 months.

     

    If you can not present a valid certificate or your certificate is older than 12 months you will be able to take a placement test prior to the registration. Please contact our reception for further information!

  • 10. I am not living in Kathmandu but I want to register and study in an online class at the GZK. Ist that possible?

    To register for a class at the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu you need to be either physically present in Kathmandu | Nepal or be able to provide a Nepalese ID. In either case it is imperative to pay the respective fee in NPR within 48 hours after receiving the registration confirmation onto a Nepalese account (Himalayan Bank).

  • 11. Online? Offline? I am confused ...

    The Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu offers physical, online and hybrid classes (a combination of online and offline lectures). However, the availability of each format depends on the respective demand. Please check our schedules for more information about our courses!

  • 12. How can I keep up with all the latest information and schedules?

  • 13. I finished my class. I am ready?! Does the Goethe-Zentrum help me to apply for a job or study in Germany?

    Unfortunately that is where our services end. We, the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu will get you ‘in shape’ to go to Germany but we do not have the ability to aid you in any application processes.
