Please find the information about upcoming class registrations here. Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu offers new class registrations every 2 – 3 months. In addition, please also follow our social media presences on Facebook and Instagram where notices are published regarding new classes a few days before the day of the registration.

The class timings will be available to choose in the online registration form.
NOTE: The class schedules mentioned above are not always confirmed and may or may not be available during class registrations. It is not guaranteed that certain level’s class will be conducted on specific class schedule.
The GZK reserves the right to temporarily change class times if circumstances do demand so.
If you have registered for an online or a Blended Learning course you will get access to all necessary learning material without further costs. If you have registered for a physical class the following applies:

To register for German language classes at the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu, you will have to fill an ONLINE FORM.
The online form is exclusively published on GZK’s Facebook page. The registrations are based on “first come, first serve” policy, i.e. whoever submits the form first, will be assigned to the class they have selected for. An email will be sent within 36 hours of submitting the form to the selected applicants.
If you do not receive any emails within 36 hours of submitting the form, that means you will be kept in the waiting list. If any slots become vacant, applicants of the waiting list will be assigned to classes on “first come, first serve” basis.
A notice will be published few days before the day of the registration on GZK’s Facebook and Instagram pages mentioning course details and registration dates.

It is simply because of very high demand for German language in Nepal. It also depends on how many classes are opened during registrations.
At the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu, seats for classes are very limited. Registrations are to be made while considering the limited seats.
The registrations are closed promptly as soon as the class reaches its full capacity and in order to keep the waiting list as short as possible
If you have been selected for a class, we will send you an email with the payment details to pay the fees.
You can pay the fees via online fund transfers or deposit cash at any Himalayan Bank branch.
After you have paid the fees, you have to send the payment proof (screenshot/PDF of the transaction statement OR picture/scanned copy of the bank voucher) at class_admission@goethe-kathmandu.edu.np
After your payment has been checked, we will send you another email confirming your payment which denotes your registration has been complete.
NOTE: You will be given a deadline (at least 24 hrs) to pay the class fees. If you fail to pay the fees within the mentioned deadline, your registration will be cancelled and your seat will be assigned to the applicants in the waiting list.
No. Pre-bookings/pre-registrations are not possible for class registrations. If you want to register for classes, you have to fill the online form on the day of the registration.
Only the applicants who have registered through the online will be assigned to classes on “first come, first serve” basis.
Yes. You have the right to ask for a refund if you have paid the fees and do not wish to continue your classes at the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu. Once you have paid for the class, it denotes that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions of the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu.
Procedure for refund:
NOTE: The request for refund has to be made before the course starting date. The individual forfeits the right to refund if the request is made after the course starting date. Therefore, the paid fees will not be refunded if the request is made after the course has started.
Academic qualifications are not required to enrol in a class or exam at the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu.
The only requirement is that the individual must be 16 years or above and should posses a government issued ID (citizenship/passport/national ID).
Driver’s license are not accepted.
No. The course/class timing cannot be changed once the online form has been submitted.
The class seat cannot be transferred to someone else once the form is submitted as well.
However, once you have enrolled in a class, you will be able to change the course/class timing while advancing to the next level.
Yes! Your exam of the respective level will be after full completion of the course. It is necessary to pass the exam in order to advance to the next level.
However, this case will differ for students of B2.1 and B2.2. Please check #24 of the FAQ.
Our classes are divided into units of 45 minutes.
Normal Class: 2 units per day @ GZK | Monday-Friday
Intensive Class: 4 units per day @ GZK | Monday – Friday
Blended Learning: 2 units per day @ GZK | Monday-Friday PLUS 2 units per day guided self-learning online (learning platform)
Physical and Online classes will be attended by a maximum of 20 students.

Yes you can! To register for the level A2 (or higher) you’ll have to provide a valid exam or participation certificate, depending on the level, of an acknowledged language institution.
The GZK accepts certificates from the Goethe-Institute, V.H.S, and Bishwa Bhasa Campus. The certificate(s) must not be older than 12 months.
If your certificate is older than 12 months you will have to take a Placement Test prior to the registration. Please check #18 of the FAQ for more information on Placement Tests.
Placement test is designed to determine your German language level by evaluating your language skills.
Who are eligible?
Registration for Placement Test is announced on GZK Facebook and Instagram pages before every class registrations.
Requirements to register for the Placement Test:
NOTE: Taking a Placement Test does not guarantee a class seat.
After your Placement Test, you will be given a certificate indicating the level you are eligible for. You’ll have to upload a picture of the said certificate in the online form during class registrations.
Yes! Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu offers online courses for those residing outside of Kathmandu. The classes will be conducted via online sessions (Zoom) and the assignments can be done in the Online Learning Platform.
Please note that the internal exam of the online students will be at the end of the course and the online students have to be present at the GZK to take the exam.
Unfortunately, that is not possible. Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu is solely for the individuals who are currently residing in Nepal.
However, the Goethe Institut has multiple branches across the globe. If you are in a foreign country, chances are, a Goethe Institut’s branch might be there as well. If so, please contact the Goethe Institut of the country you are residing in.
The Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu offers physical and online versions of Blended Learning course. Once you are enrolled in this course, you’ll be given access to Goethe Institut’s Online Learning Platform. Course materials can also be found in the Online Learning Platform which can be downloaded as well.
In Blended Learning PHYSICAL course, the classes are physical and the assignments have to be done in the Online Learning Platform.
In Blended Learning ONLINE course, the classes will be conducted via online sessions (Zoom) and the assignments have to be done in the Online Learning Platform.
Unfortunately, that is where our services end. We, the Goethe-Zentrum Kathmandu are solely a German language institute, a cultural and exam centre. We do not offer counselling services and aide in applying for Germany.
However, counselling seminars on studying in Germany are occasionally conducted at the GZK by other parties. Such seminars are announced on GZK’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

No! Students who are currently studying B2.1 do not get to register for the B2 internal exam. They will be able to do so only after completing B2.2.
The B2 internal exam is solely for the current B2.2 students. If any exam slots become vacant, they will be assigned to external applicants or applicants in the waiting list.
However, if you are a current B2.1 student at the GZK, you can register for the B2 external exams. You’ll have to fill the online registration form and you’ll receive an email from us when you have been assigned an exam date.
